Merry Christmas and May God Bless You in the New Year!
As I type this I am enjoying the wonderful sight of AUA students helping families from Armona carry bags of groceries and toys to their cars. What an amazing sight it is!!!
It’s Christmas time which means our high school students have been busy helping with our annual food and toy drive. On Friday, December 7th all of the high school students went out to neighborhoods in Lemoore, Armona and Hanford leaving brown grocery bags on the doorsteps asking families who were able to give to families in need. We put out more than 4,500 bags. On Monday, December 10th we went back out and picked up the filled bags people had left.
This is one of my favorite projects to be a part of here at AUA. I am always overwhelmed by the generosity of the community and the blessings we receive from God by collecting food for the needy in His name. This year we collected more than 3 tons of food which today is being given to more than 70 families who live in Armona and are in desperate need this holiday season. Each family is given at least two bags of groceries and gift wrapped toys for their children.
I thank the Lord for giving us the ability to help families in need. I thank Him for a generous community who is willing to help. I thank Him for staff, students, parents, and community members who have all been willing to donate their time and energy to this project.
Merry Christmas!
