Serving with Purpose: Armona Union Academy Joins Guatemala Mission Trip 2026
In March 2026, students from Armona Union Academy (AUA) joined peers from across the Central California Conference (CCC) of Seventh-day Adventists for a life-changing international mission trip to Machaquilá, Guatemala. This multi-school initiative brought together high school students (grades 9–12) with a shared purpose: to serve others, grow spiritually, and experience hands-on ministry beyond their local communities.
The mission trip, held from March 15–25, focused on supporting the community surrounding Machaquila, Guatemal. Students participated in a wide range of service activities, including construction projects, medical and dental outreach, Vacation Bible School programs for children, and evening evangelistic efforts. These efforts aimed not only to meet physical needs but also to share Christ’s love through personal connection and spiritual engagement.
Armona Union Academy students played an active role in these outreach efforts. From assisting in building projects to participating in evangelism teams, AUA students contributed their time and talents to make a meaningful impact.
The experience extended beyond service work. For many students, the trip was an opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, build friendships with students from other CCC schools, and deepen their faith through daily ministry and cultural immersion. Living and working together in a new environment fostered teamwork, compassion, and a broader understanding of global needs.
Upon returning home, AUA participants reflected on the lasting impact of the trip. The experience reinforced the value of service and reminded students of the importance of using their abilities to help others.
The 2026 Guatemala mission trip stands as a powerful example of the CCC’s mission to combine education with service. For Armona Union Academy students, it was more than a trip—it was a transformative journey that will continue to influence their lives, faith, and future commitment to serving others.
